Space saving design

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

When Thomas Hardy installed a new shrinkwrapper to handle a wide range of bottles/packaging, the company approached Walsall Engineering to help overcome space issues by coming up with the optimum design solution to modify the bottle conveyors feeding the new machine.

Walsall Engineering’s proposal included the design and installation of a new bottle conveying system, from the labeller discharge to the infeed of the shrinkwrapper, incorporating a compact bottle accumulation solution at the heart of it, where space was at a premium.

Working in close co-operation with Thomas Hardy and the shrinkwrappper supplier, the old system was removed to a strict schedule and replaced by the new conveyors and shrinkwrapper.
