Spec build due to open in July
Work is progressing for the delivery of a major new logistics development in Doncaster with steelwork for the first 150,000 sq ft unit now completed and an expected completion date announced for July 2018.
This is the first phase of speculative development by db symmetry at Symmetry Park, Doncaster, where it has committed to deliver up to 721,000 sq ft of logistics space. It is working in collaboration with Bassetlaw District Council on the £60million scheme which is strategically located on a 54-acre site at Junction 34 of the A1(M).
The new scheme has motorway links and access to Doncaster Sheffield Airport and the East Coast Ports. The site will be delivered in three phases and offers the option for a building footprint of up to 570,000 sq ft. It is expected that the scheme will support major employment in the area creating an estimated 950 new jobs when fully completed.
The works being undertaken by db symmetry incorporate road improvements at the Junction as well as significant infrastructure including the installation of full site services and a new roundabout to the entrance of the site. With the steel frame complete, contractor, Marshall Construction will commence exterior cladding, flooring and offices fit out of the unit. It will also progress the critical infrastructure provisions.
Symmetry Park, Doncaster is one of five speculative developments totalling 800,000 sq ft which db symmetry is currently committed to across the UK.
