Supporting growth

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Six years of growth on from implementing the the MACS warehouse management system (MACSwms), operations at Chiltern Cold Storage continue to be supported by MACS.

According to John Davidson, the company’s contracts director, Chiltern chose to work with MACS Software in 2009 when its existing WMS struggled to keep up with its requirements. Since then, Chiltern has more than doubled in size and has been supported well by its supply chain including MACS Software.

Maintaining this good service has, along the way, required MACS Software to make adjustments to meet the complex demands of Chiltern’s customers. For example, MACSwms manages shelf life criteria. If a customer wants a minimum shelf life on a product, the system can ensure that it’s achieved. MACSwms also calculates the distribution shelf life, so whether an item is despatched to Europe, the Far East or Scotland, the information is correct.
