The continuous evolution of electric
There is no denying that all over the world we are looking for alternative power sources, says TVH. The automotive industry is rapidly shifting to all-electric.

THE WORLD of material handling has been electrified for a long time, but still, we are shifting to new directions as technology evolves.
The warehouse equipment market is becoming more and more global. An increasing number of players is jumping on the bandwagon to capture their share of the market. The penetration of Chinese brands in the historical markets of Europe and America is currently a hot topic.
We can now say that 1 in 4 forklifts sold in the EU and US comes from China. Despite this trend, we must to emphasise that historic brands that have been present in international markets for many years are not falling behind. They offer new products every year based on innovative technical solutions, both in components and performance.
The main focus of every company involved is to research and develop new power supplies: electric, hybrid and hydrogen.
TVH stays on track
As a global player on the market, we have to keep abreast of every innovation. We are constantly identifying the most important products and technological solutions. Our goal is to develop these components and make them available to our customers as soon as possible.
However, we are not taking this lightly. All new parts have to undergo thorough testing before we add them to our product range. We always focus on multiple aspects like quality, availability, and price.
We are determined to maintain our position as the aftermarket leader regardless of new trends and new products that need to be developed. Our customers can always rely on us to get spare parts, regardless of the machine, make or model they have.
If a customer of ours has a latest generation machine in his fleet, he has nothing to worry about. At TVH, we have been doing the research and development needed to offer new spare parts for quite some time. This means that there is a good chance that what he needs is already available in our warehouses. All he has to do is order and we will take care of the rest.
We are constantly striving to expand our offer, our forklift portfolio and our warehouse equipment. Whether it’s new parts, new brands, or new types of equipment.
The decline of IC engines
The importance of internal combustion (IC) trucks seems to be declining all over the world. Only ⅓ of the trucks sold in recent years are IC trucks. The European and American brands that lead the market have been steering the market towards electric models at the expense of IC forklifts for years.
In APAC and China, on the other hand, the majority of sales are still internal combustion engine trucks. So it could be that the increasing penetration of Chinese brands in the EU and America is due to the demand for IC engines, which are less expensive and perfect for less intensive use. They are thus indispensable for a certain segment of users.
It is possible that in a few years we will see a clear division of the market, with EU and US-made machines being almost entirely electric. The Chinese-made machines, on the other hand, take the lead in the IC market, all the while waiting for what will happen with hydrogen power.
