Truck efficiency improved

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

When man riser narrow aisle trucks at its head office were swaying from side to side in aisles due to an uneven floor surface, Bosch UK turned to Concrete Grinding for a solution.

CG was commissioned to provide the Gold Service – a superflat floor grinding solution using the Laser Grinder technology.  Amongst its many innovative features, this laser guided technology, available only from Concrete Grinding, constantly checks and maintains the correct path during the grinding process – accurate to within fractions of a millimetre.

CG proceeded to grind five aisles totalling 180m, whole aisle width (the entire width of a narrow aisle), to DM2 floor flatness specification. Using CG’s Laser Grinder system also meant that the warehouse could remain operational whilst grinding work took place.

The project was completed successfully with positive feedback from the client. “The truck drivers are satisfied with the new surface and the trucks are operating to maximum efficiency.  From my point of view I had no issues at all and CG engineers were very professional throughout the contract and I would like to thank you and your team for the service provided and for completing the project on time and as originally specified,” commented Gavin Bates, facilities manager, Bosch UK.
