Trucks handle varied loads

Carrylift Group Skelmersdale has supplied Unicarrier TX3 forklifts to bathroom retailer Victorian Plumbing.

The retailer has a product portfolio exceeding 5,000 items in its 100,000 sq ft warehouse. Product lines are picked and transported around the warehouse to be packed before being despatched to customers. A combination of performance and reliability is vital to enable the productivity required to ensure that the hundreds of orders received by Victorian Plumbing every day are despatched on time.

Maintaining a fleet of modern and reliable materials handling vehicles is essential. Victorian Plumbing approached the Carrylift Group to discuss the replacement of their older Nissan forklift trucks, which were provided on a casual hire basis, to help get the new site up and running.

The challenges met by Carrylift included the requirement for longer working periods, high lift capacities at height and tight aisle widths to work in. In addition to this the pallets being handled were not of a single standard due to the varied sizes of loads carried i.e. bath tubs and shower screens to various boxes of taps and brass wear.

On completion of a site survey, Carrylift recommended three new Nissan Unicarrier 1500kg TX3s with the option of a 6000mm mast and sideshift. Both rental and purchase options were given, however the management from Victorian Plumbing selected a long term Hire Agreement as their preferred option.

Victorian Plumbing has taken delivery of the trucks, facilitating the safe and precise operation of the company’s busy schedule.
