Walls and doors protected at busy Royal Mail facility

As part of a £80m refurbishment of Mount Pleasant, Royal Mail’s flagship London facility, wall and door protection firm Yeoman Shield, the UK’s has completed a £1m contract to install a range of standard and bespoke wall and door protection products.

Royal Mail Group Property’s Programme Manager, Paul Bulmer says: “Over the years, the walls and doors of Mount Pleasant had sustained a lot of damage, having being battered by the wheeled containers, used to move mail around the building. As part of the refurbishment we were looking for a product that would be effective at preventing damage and would look attractive. Yeoman Shield happily provided and installed samples into a trial area on the ground floor which worked well – and looked good.”

As well as supplying, Yeoman Shield also carried out the fitting including FalmouthEX Wall Sheet in Red, Stainless Corner Angles, Special Timber Pattress (covered in Black PVC) Duo Fender (Black with Red inner) and Stainless Steel Footrail.

In the busy van delivery/collection area, D Fender and a Special Pattress Duo Fender were installed along with HD100(H) High Vis Heavy Duty Corner Protection.

“The finished look is very attractive. It has been well received by both users and visitors and we have the reassurance of knowing that the building will maintain its ‘smart look’ for many years to come,” added Paul.
