Wincanton invests in Manhattan multichannel fulfilment IT

Logistics business Wincanton has implemented the latest version of Manhattan Associates’ WMS in a bid to tackle the multichannel challenges of its retail customers.

The software is designed to provide flexible order fulfilment that delivers an integrated, omni-buying experience for the consumer, including more choices for how they buy and take delivery of their goods.

Liam McElroy, managing director Retail and Consumer at Wincanton, said: “It’s important for Wincanton to ensure we stay ahead of the curve and provide our customers with the very best in multichannel solutions. By building on the relationship we have enjoyed with Manhattan Associates since 2007, which has already included a number of successful WMS implementations, we can be assured that our specific requirements and those of our customers are not only met today but also anticipated for the future.

“One of the first Wincanton customers to benefit from this latest version of Manhattan’s solution is Majestic Wine, the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer. The solution will serve as the engine behind Majestic’s National Fulfilment Centre (NFC) at Wincanton’s shared user site in Greenford, West London. Majestic’s customers will soon enjoy a named and next-day delivery service, allowing customers to select from a number of fulfilment options including click-and-collect and home delivery.”
