Winemaker automates
California winemaker Trinchero Family Estates’ new bottling and warehousing facility has increased its output.
A key part of the operation is a automated warehousing solution from Power Automation Systems (PAS) to move and store more than 72,000 pallets of wine.
The project includes PowerStor, PowerStage, and PASWare. PowerStor is a cart and vertical lift storage system. PAS says the system delivers higher throughput and density for food and beverage warehouses compared to conventional crane based automated storage and retrieval systems.
The first phase of the installation includes 54,000 pallets and began in January and is expected to be operational by June 2015.
