Temporary building delivered within ambitious schedule
10 January 2019
Smart-Space has completed the construction of a 250-pallet packaging store for Cranswick at the food producer's cooked chicken facility in Hull.

The semi-permanent 15-metre by 20-metre structure, with 40mm composite walls and a thermo inflatable roof, will be used to store packaging on five-metre high racking. Cranswick will extend its refrigeration area into the previous internal store, helping the business to continue its expansion into the retail sector and to maintain its current 20% year-on-year growth.
“We were looking for a quick and effective method of boosting production by re-utilising the space given over to packaging and Smart-Space provided us with the ideal solution,” says Cranswick operations director, Jason Key. “The two-week timeframe for the entire project was extremely ambitious, but Smart-Space delivered inside that schedule. Being a food site means hygiene is vital to our operation and we were delighted with the integrity of the completed building.”
“Our business is focused on product quality and customer service. Having seen a Smart-Space project on another of our sites, it was reassuring to work with a business that shares the same values.”
