THE DEVELOPMENT is being brought forward under Keir Property’s Logistics City brand, which part of a £400 million joint venture with PGIM Real Estate with the aim of developing brownfield and underutilised sites across the UK.
Kier Property acquired the 5.15 acre site from Reliance Worldwide Corporation, in 2022 and secured planning permission in August 2023. Harmonix Construction has been appointed to build the warehouse which is due to be ready for occupation in October 2024.
The 104,000 ft2 building will include 9,741 ft2 of Grade A first-floor offices and will target BREEAM Excellent, net zero carbon in operation and an EPC rating of A+. The building will incorporate a range of sustainable features designed to reduce the operational costs of the building including solar panels, 15% rooflights, LED lighting, a BMS system, efficient heating/cooling and market leading thermal insulation values. The development will also adopt the use of sustainable construction materials, EV charging points, landscaped employee breakout spaces and cycle storage facilities.
