Storage player targets manufacturing exhibition

22 March 2024

BITO STORAGE Systems will demonstrate its storage and picking UK systems at MACH 2024.

Held on 15-19 April at the NEC, Birmingham, MACH is the key event for manufacturing engineers, decision makers and buyers to find, specify and purchase new equipment.

SK containers

Among the BITO solutions on show will be a mobile shelving trolley equipped with SK containers, which is designed to provide flexibility in picking zones. It can be used at lineside and during transportation of goods. Galvanised shelves resist corrosion and give long-lasting use. SK storage bins can accommodate a wide variety of small products and facilitate easy picking. Contents in the containers can be seen from the outside at a glance, even when the bins are stacked. Nine models are available, in five different basic sizes.

RK container shelving

BITO’s RK container shelving, which enables users to create their own workshop, will also be on show. Boltless design means this shelving unit can be erected in minutes without the need for specialist tools or fixtures to efficiently store small parts such as screws, nails, washers and more. Individual shelves can be independently expanded and adjusted to accommodate different sized bins.

SL containers

Large SL containers will be featured as a practical choice for storing and transporting heavy goods. They have an impressive load capacity of 500 kg and stacking load of 1500 kg but are significantly more lightweight than conventional wire-mesh pallet boxes or steel sheet containers. Easy-to-clean surfaces allow hygienic transport while a sturdy hinged lid protects goods from damage and dirt. Runners provide convenient handling for forklift or hand pallet trucks.

Mobile carton live storage (CLS)

A highlight of the stand will be a rack of BITO’s versatile and cost efficient mobile carton live storage (CLS). Fitted with a mix of swivel and fixed castors these units can be effortlessly relocated to workstations or production lines wherever required to provide an ergonomic solution for supplying A, B and C-items. Flow shelves are height adjustable in 12.5 mm increments to ensure that items are presented neatly and are easy-to-pick, despite large quantities of stock that the CLS can hold. Able to shorten pick routes by up to 70%, CLS operates on a FIFO (first in, first out) basis. Load carriers are gravity-driven to move to the rack front, providing constant availability of goods. Having separate loading and picking sides increases productivity.

Completing BITO’s stand will be a low height modular workbench system, which can be extended to suit different needs. Stand 6-591
