Jungheinrich has acquired a significant stakeholding in ISA-Innovative, a warehouse management software company.
In recent years Jungheinrich has co-operated with Austriabased ISA on several large systems projects across Europe and by acquiring part of the company, Jungheinrich has expanded its software capabilities.
The firm sees the move as an investment in a field that is growing fast despite difficult economic times.
Steve Richmond, general manager of Jungheinrich UK's Systems & Projects Division, said: “Software such as warehouse management systems and materials flow systems are a crucial component of any materials handling solution and critical to any project's success.â€
