Provider of handling and sortation
systems for both flat goods and
hanging garments, Dürkopp
Fördertechnik, has added a second
extension to the system it installed for
Aurora Fashions, the name behind
Karen Millen, Coast,Warehouse and
Oasis. The business has a 55,000ft2,
four level, central distribution centre
at Stanton Harcourt near Oxford
which can store around 1.5
million garments, both flat and
hanging.
The whole contract, which has a total value of nearly 3 million Euros, includes a twotier hanging mezzanine system and a two-tier hanging garment racking structure. It is currently handling up to 100,000 flat and hanging garments a day.
The system uses D-Store, Dürkopp's bespoke warehouse management product, which also communicates with the customer's own software. It picks and sorts orders received daily from 1400 stores across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
