Systems integrator Witron Logistik + Informatik Gmbh has won a tender to build a distribution centre covering a variety of temperature zones for Coop in Norway.

“The complete concept impressed us regarding its cost-effectiveness, ergonomics, energy efficiency and flexibility,” says Halvor Nassvik at Coop Norge Handel AS.

The dc has a size of about 50,000 sq m and from this warehouse Coop will supply the eastern parts of Norway.
The site will also cover the central warehouse function for slow moving and special items for Coop's 850 stores in the whole of Norway.

The job will incorporate Witron logistics solutions OPM, DPS, CPS and DPP.

All pallet/stacker cranes and conveyors will be built by the Witron company FAS and equipped with power saving and synchronous propulsion technology.

Witron will supply the design, IT and PLC controls and all mechanics. Technical service and operation of the logistics centre will be managed by Witron Onsite Team.
