Operating Motive Power battery
machinery at low temperatures can be
a challenge. "When a battery-electric
truck is operating in low temperatures,
the battery's electrolyte
temperature falls and its available
capacity decreases," explains Peter
Atack, product support manager at
GNB Industrial Power.
"At temperatures below 0°C, loss of available capacity is accelerated even further, which is detrimental to productivity. However, there are a number of products that can be used to ensure machinery continues to operate effectively and efficiently even at the lowest of temperatures." The Classic lead-acid battery from GNB is suited to working in cold stores due to its robustness and reliability. The Aquajet Plus is also designed for use in cold conditions, with a rugged construction and watertight seals.
