Linde Material Handling has enhanced its CiTi truck range due to customer demand. The new model will incorporate a weighing feature and a lower maximum speed level which will significantly improve efficiency and safety within all operations.

The CiTi truck scooped the innovation award at 2011's FLTA awards and was designed to make light work of handling and delivering palletised goods in challenging environments. The model gives the operator the control to easily negotiate uneven surfaces of up to 70mm while making minimum noise - essential for early morning urban deliveries, and minimal effort in any application.

The new weighing device on the enhanced CiTi model, will make the weighing of palletised loads easier for the operator. Many industrial and commercial companies require weighing activities in their process; checking weights prior to onward transportation, establishing weights for invoicing, monitoring incoming goods, stock, production and dispatch control, control of waste, health, safety and legislative requirements.

Introducing this feature means that the new CiTi truck will save time and manpower in warehouses, helping to significantly increase efficiency.

The other new feature is the permanent speed limitation of 4km/h. Linde's customers have various requests / preferences and health and safety department requirements to reduce the maximum speed of trucks. With this in mind, Linde has devised a special dedicated controller which can be fitted to the truck to reduce speed to up to 4km/h as opposed to the current 6km/h. This will become the maximum speed once fitted and it will not be possible to alter the speed over the lifetime of the truck.

High-speed passenger train operator, Eurostar, bought the CiTi truck to handle delivery of palletised goods to its trains at London's St Pancras station.

Dave Bridges, Eurostar despatch manager explains: "We were looking for a product that would not only make light work of handling and delivering our on board magazine from the loading bay to the train but also one safe enough for use in a busy pedestrianised environment."
