CHEP, a leading provider of pallet and container pooling solutions, has announced that its UK operation has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard by measuring, managing and reducing its carbon emissions by 7.6 percent in the last three years.

Darran Messem, managing director of certification at the Carbon Trust, said, "We congratulate CHEP UK on obtaining the Carbon Trust Standard. Business leaders who have sound carbon management strategies in place stand to prosper both now and in the future." CHEP managing director, UK & Ireland, Howard Wigham, commented, "We're thrilled to have achieved the Carbon Trust Standard. It is a great way of showing that we are on the front foot when it comes to carbon management and gives us an opportunity to communicate our environmental credentials with integrity to those that matter." The Carbon Trust Standard recognises organisations for real carbon reduction based on a rigorous, independent assessment.
