Demag Cranes has won a major
order from BMW. The company has
received an order from the vehicle
manufacturer to supply a total of 28
cranes to serve press lines at its
locations in Leipzig, Regensburg and
Dingolfing. The order includes 23
process cranes with lifting capacities
of up to 55 tonnes, two semi-portal
cranes, one full portal crane and two
standard cranes. The order highlights
the proven and longstanding
relationship between the two
companies. BMW has been using
Demag Cranes' technology in its
production activities for decades.
This order is the second significant contract, placed with Demag Cranes, by BMW within the last four years. In 2008, nine process crane systems were delivered to BMW plants at Leipzig, Regensburg and Dingolfing.
