Like the Super Voyager express train
- after many years of perfecting the
product and refining the price point
Voice has suddenly arrived, swiftly
and silently, and all passengers - big
and small, rich and poor - can enjoy
the same high speed ride, says
Proteus Software.
The company continues: "Voice is best in fine picking environments where picking costs are greatest and where potential for error is high, and it is not suitable for large, expensive bulk goods, and it's not always the be all and end all, as many organisations are best served by a variety of picking processes.
"However evidence from multiple sources is impressive. Numerous case studies prove that in the right circumstances Voice investment will achieve ROI in approx. 6-18 months, bring training time down to minutes not days, and improve efficiency by anything up to 75%." However, Proteus urges buyers to check if the supplier has implemented a true real time RF Directed voice system. "Lesser systems are batch oriented - which means that operators risk going to bins emptied by a previous batched instruction. RF Directed systems ensure that this never happens," concludes the firm.
