The Velia order pickers from Mitsubishi Forklifts are designed to reduce strain for operators

Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks has introduced Velia ES - a sixmodel series of low level order pickers. Building on the awardwinning ergonomic design of the OPB20NE, the Velia ES 1.0 to 2.0 tonne trucks are available with a choice of load sections, including cantilever and scissor lift, which allow for loads to be lifted to an ergonomic height of 800mm, to avoid strain for the operator.

In addition, the new series includes three rising platform models which lift the operator to a height of 2.5 metres for safe second level picking.

The order pickers have also been developed for speed and manoeuvrability, and are said to feature highly sophisticated electronics enabling precise control. The programmable controller allows adjustment of acceleration, speed and braking settings to match with the needs of different operators and applications. The trucks also include an electric steering system which offers automatic speed reduction in curves and automatic drive wheel centring.

Special attention has been given to optimising operator movement. The truck's spacious operator area is said to feature the market's biggest platform. For on/off access from both sides, the walkthrough cabin has a step height of 105mm and chamfered platform edges. The floor mat acts as a floor sensor, allowing the truck to move as soon as the operator is in place, to minimise delays.

Each of the six models features the ergonomically designed Maxius steering wheel, which brings all operating controls within easy reach of both hands.

Comfortable and responsive, it can be operated using one hand and can be adjusted to each operator's ideal position.

The LED lighting design, offering seeand- be-seen safety, also acts as a turn indicator. The low-maintenance design includes RapidAccess features for checks and maintenance.
