Ex-Condor man to utilise Isle of Wight experience

Julian Pedler has joined Steve Porter Transport Group to head-up the recently announced strategic partnership that it entered into with Meachers Global Logistics.

Julian Pedler has joined Steve Porter Transport Group to head-up the recently announced strategic partnership that it entered into with Meachers Global Logistics.
The jointly funded role will see Pedler spearhead the business development function of the collaboration. He boasts 25 years industry experience having worked for Condor Logistics for 18 years, during which time he was responsible for developing the firms offshore markets offering.
In October, Steve Porter Transport Group and Meachers Global Logistics, entered into a strategic partnership agreement in which the businesses co-operate on the delivery of inbound and outbound freight from the Isle of Wight via Southampton.
The partners intend to harness Pedler's experience to develop additional offshore markets beyond the Isle of Wight such as the Channel Islands.
Commenting on the appointment, Malcolm Gibson, Managing Director, Steve Porter Transport Group said on behalf of the Alliance: "We are delighted to welcome Julian on board to manage the growth of the new partnership. Julian has a wealth of offshore experience and will undoubtedly be a great asset to the alliance as we look to develop and expand into to new markets."
Julian Pedler added: "I'm really excited to be taking on responsibility for the development of the alliance. We have a fantastic offering that will appeal to a range of clients from supermarkets and retailers through to SME's, indeed anyone with an offshore requirement."
Steve Porter Transport Group is the Isle of Wight's largest independent freight carrier. It provides express transport services to businesses in central Southern England, the Isle of Wight, the Channel Islands and throughout the UK.
Meachers Global Logistics provides customers with solutions to their Freight Forwarding, Supply Chain Management, UK Warehousing, Distribution and Contract Management requirements. It was formed in 1958 and operates form both Southampton and Derby.
