Dürkopp Fördertechnik has
developed new technology for
processing e-commerce orders.
"The e-commerce sector is very different when it comes to processing orders â€" sometimes tens of thousands of orders are handled with a very low number of items per order," said Annette Sommer, general manager of Dürkopp Fördertechnik UK. "The traditional mail order process used multiple step sorting systems. Even when automated technology was used, it involved complex sortation systems which, in most cases, were labour intensive with high error rates." The system can handle approximately 10,000 items per hour, with minimum workforce. It is working successfully at numerous sites in mainland Europe and in the UK.
Dürkopp Fördertechnik will be exhibiting at this year's IMHX on stand 20D30 together with their parent company Knapp AG.
