Offering 8% improved fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions, Toyota Material Handling has introduced a new optimised Toyota Tonero diesel engine for its range of diesel counterbalance forklift trucks with capacities from 1.5 to 3.5t.

The improved fuel consumption and lowering of CO2 has been achieved on the proven Toyota designed and manufactured 1DZIII industrial diesel engine, specifically designed for forklift trucks. This 36kW diesel engine has been optimised for fuel efficiency with the integration of a new fuel injection pump regulating fuel in the combustion process. It also complies with the latest 97/68/EC emissions regulations. With sustainability as a fundamental value of the Toyota Tonero's design, the trucks are designed and manufactured to be up to 99% recyclable at end-of-life in Toyota's ISO 14001-certified plant in Ancenis, France.
