New generation of electric trucks launched by Linde
03 April 2014
Linde Material Handling has launched a new generation of electric forklift trucks with its E12 to E20 EVO series.
Linde has added new features to its electric threewheel and four-wheel forklift trucks in the 1.2 to 2-tonne load category and adapted its existing models to meet clients’ changing requirements, such as increased outdoor use. New driving dynamics programmes have been introduced to allow the truck’s settings to be tailored between high performance and low energy consumption according to individual customer needs.
Electric three-wheel and four-wheel trucks are among the most widely used forklifts, particularly in distribution centres and manufacturing plants and are widely used in wholesale and retail. Technical highlights such as a compact axle with integrated power modules, front-wheel drive, and Lindes innovative combi axle, have made the Linde electric forklift truck the benchmark in the truck industry for many years.
Its new electric forklift truck series stands out with its black "shark fin" on a red truck chassis and the EVO lettering. Inside the truck, a new power module with improved tuning achieves up to 16 percent lower energy consumption compared to the previous series.
The new trucks have been designed to provide greater comfort for the operator and in turn increase productivity. The EVO range benefits from a new-generation seat and armrest and a larger entry step. The operator benefits from enhanced seat pressure distribution and isolated mountings on the tilt cylinders reduce the impact of vibrations and shocks on the operator.
Key Points
The new EVO series offers active ventilation as standard and the high frequency on-board charger allows flexible recharging, simplifying the battery charging process as it removes the need for the operator to open the battery hood, cab door or truck windows.
The new "real-time indicator" allows operators to make optimum use of the energy reserves, precisely recording energy consumption and showing the battery remaining period to the minute on the multifunction display.
As standard in the new series is the automatic parking brake which is applied by the truck when it is at a standstill to ensure the truck is secure whenever the operator leaves it and to prevent uncontrolled rollback of the truck on ramps.
The new EVO range includes a total of 19 models, from the Linde E12 model with 1.2-tonne load capacity and 24 volts, to the Linde E20 PHL with 2-tonne load capacity and a 930-Ah battery.
