Greenbank has launched a system to make waste machines such as compactors work
smarter, increasing efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Asoftware system developed by recycling and waste management specialist Greenbank can be added to compacting equipment to improve performance.
The Greenbank Pulse Assurance Information System is suitable for new and existing machines and works as an electronic information system to help maximise compactor payloads, minimise transport costs and reduce machine downtime thereby helping to increase profits, says the company.
Nick Saltmarsh, Greenbank's logistics manager, adds: "The software can be integrated with any compactor and the benefits are huge.We all know that we like to be kept informed and the Pulse Assurance module will tell the operators, managers and service engineers that the container is full or if there is a problem." At one site, Greenbank has programmed the system to email its head office when there is a problem with the equipment.
Greenbank then alerts the company to check out the system.
This dramatically reduces downtime for the machines.
"For any company that runs its business on reporting it is wonderful as Pulse Assurance tells them when a machine is full, or even if it needs a service or the hydraulic oil is too hot," explains Saltmarsh.
Greenbank can install the Pulse Assurance system on new as well as existing onsite equipment that has been in operation for several years and it can be set up to send messages to the centre of operations via SMS, email or fax.
It requires no extra power and installation is said to be quick, meaning there is limited machine downtime.
Saltmarsh concludes: "We've had a lot of interest in Pulse Assurance since we unveiled it to existing customers. It is probably unsurprising in the current economic climate where anything that helps to drive down costs and contributes to increased profitability is welcomed with open arms."
