A specialist supermarket food supplier has developed a recipe for making money from waste after joining forces with Greenbank waste handling and equipment company.

Deli Solutions, based in Clitheroe, now has a new revenue stream that has generated over £57,000 in 10 months after an overhaul of its recycling practices by the waste management and recycling specialists.

The Lancashire company, which prepares imported olives and supplies supermarket delicatessen counters, has installed a customised machine that lifts the bins and crushes the 5kg tins that produce arrives in. In addition to supplying the machine, Greenbank also arranges monthly collection and disposal of the steel, which Deli Solutions is then paid for. As well as benefitting from the revenue, Deli Solutions has also reduced the costs that it used to incur paying for the waste to be collected.
