Waste handling and equipment
company, Greenbank, has helped
preserve a rare mammal at the same
time as solving a food company's
waste storage problem.
Daniels Group was unable to employ more conventional methods used to keep vermin out of its Grimsby factory yard for fear of harming water voles living in the dyke running alongside the site. The problem has been solved with the purchase of two self-cleaning, portable compactors (PCW25s) from Greenbank.
The machines have automaticallyclosing lids to keep out seagulls and other birds, and are designed to prevent a build up of waste inside the machine that would then need regular cleaning. Not only has this resulted in a clean site, thus alleviating the risk of food waste attracting pests, but has led to cost savings and a greener carbon footprint for Daniels.
