Four Greenbank compactors are
helping a major UK tea factory in its
bid to recycle 100pc of its waste.
Typhoo Tea has been using three of the machines at its UK headquarters on the Wirral since 2007, most recently for the skeletal waste of its tea bags.
As it drew close to being able to process nearly all of the site's waste, Typhoo had a fourth compactor installed this year and, as a result, will reach its 90 percent recycling target by the end of August.
Now, Typhoo operations manager Ken Mullin says not only has the company saved money, he is confident that Typhoo Tea can achieve 100% recycling early in 2011.
